Perioperative Nurse

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional perioperative and post-anesthesia care. This role involves delivering direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional nursing ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and provide education to patients and families, all within established policies to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and communicate vital information to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and quality monitoring to support compliance with healthcare standards.
• Effectively communicate with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve care outcomes and patient experience.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Adapt positively to the dynamic healthcare environment, supporting organizational mission and values.
• Incorporate critical thinking and pursue ongoing education to enhance nursing skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of Missouri.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical movements such as turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, with minimal physical discomfort.
